What seems unique to one person can seem very normal to another.  I had what some would consider a very unique experience growing up.  My family was in the funeral business and for the first ten years my life my family and I lived above the funeral home.   You heard that right; we lived above the funeral home.  

Here’s what that meant for my little brother and me growing up in that environment.  It meant that right away you learn a lot about compassion and grief and the value of life because while other kids your age were watching cartoons and playing with their toys* we were exposed to families who had just lost something very precious.

If that seem like a complaint, it’s not.   It was a blessing.  Because it taught me the most important lessons in the world and those are the value of listening and the importance of making someone feel heard.  It’s the reason I stay up late answering your questions.  It’s the reason why we constantly are trying to improve our products and delivery.  It’s the reason why with every compliment I beam, and with every critique I lose a night’s sleep.  It’s why we continue to strive to do better.

I’m really proud of the community and the family we’re building at Azuna.  The over 10,000 strong customers who have purchased our product in our first year are part of that family.  So I’m writing today because I want you to know.  I’m listening.  We’re listening.
